ARGHHH

This is how Bujang took the news when I told him gently that he would be on a diet until he is a svelte 5 kg cat. He did not take it well.

  1. Hey Bujang, it's your turn to diet now. :P In my "research" of lower fat dry cat food, I came across:
    - Royal Canin's Indoor Cats formula, 15% fat (Jackie ate this & Solid Gold)
    - Evolve, 18% fat
    - Nutro, 20% which is quite normal

The other brands have at least 20% and above in fat content.

  2. No wonder lah. The amigos will only eat Nutro. I think it tastes fat-ter than the rest. I tried Natural balance, Evolve and Royal Canin. they told me politely to mind my own business and leave them alone to eat Nutro :)

  3. Aren't the amigos picky.

Since Jackie is no longer with me, I've been feeding my stock of Solid Gold and Royal Canin to some community cats. I find all the females are not picky and will eat whatever brand (even Acana - low salt), but a couple of male cats won't touch Royal Canin and Acana, and these are stray cats we're talking about. They are junkies for Friskies (given by other feeders).

  4. Yup. This morning at about 6.15 I fed the calico commnity cat with the can of Natural balance. She ate 3/4 of it up. Usually she gets some of the amigos food - nutro which she likes.
I think Bujang is addicted to nutro from when he was 6 weeks old. The vet told me to feed him with it :)
I see a new commnity cat - a big fat tabby male. He was supposed to be in the next block. I dontknow why he is at my block though. Hmmm. he also gets some of the amigos stuff :)

  6. Well its true that he does like to jump about and he and Toro have been chasing each other across the rooms. Slow and steady except just now I think he was very hungry and tried to eat from everyone else's bowls. He didn't have much luck cos the other kitties guarded their bowls jealously.
