Twas the night before Hari Raya Haji...

and all through the house...

no one was stirring...
except Rocket Tanaka...

At least he had the wisdom to stay quite still. If not the whole Christmas inspired poem would go to the dogs!
Update
Toro did not eat his protein sachet with good grace and threw up again right after I gave him his 2 small tubes in the morning. So I decided to get some tuna water and mix the very bland protein in it. I mixed it into a thick mixture but he still refused to eat it from his bowl so I grabbed him gently and firmly and asked grandma to help me hold his hind legs. He moved around a little but finally realised that he actually had to eat the stuff. It was a slow process but he downed all of his 3 tubes in the afternoon and 4 tubes at night. So he had actually eaten 3/4 of his whole sachet for today. He had to take 1 sachet per day for 3 days. Since I am getting the hang of it, I think the next 2 days would be better. After he had successfully eaten his share, I immediately gave him a little treat as a reward (I have not given the amigos any treats since the beginning of Dec). I think this helped quite a bit. No more vomitting episodes.
Ms Akira as predicted did not cooperate with the 1/4 pill and created quite a stir. She refused to open her mouth and she has some very sharp teeth too! I remembered that she totally refused to allow the vet to open her mouth and the vet had to try to prise open her mouth twice. Btw, she has very good teeth :) So Cousin R came up with a solution to hide the pill in the salmon treat that aunty_p brought us. We both knew she likes the treats but we had not been giving any of the amigos any treats at all. She ate the treat, dropped the pill and after sniffing it for a bit, she ate it. SUCCESS!
So all in all, today has been quite good for them all :)

  1. Wow what a challenge for you both!!!!

Miss Akira surely is fussy! 1/4 tablet is very small indeed.

  2. It's usually a challenge to give a pill to a cat. Any cat worth his tuna will surely spit it out in any way he can, if he can help it. Haha!

Sugar used to bluff us into thinking that he had swallowed the pill, but would spit it out when we let go of him and started foaming at the mouth...really drama papa, that one!
