Sleepy Cat Sunday

Bujang spending time with me...sleeping...

Tanaka getting cosy in the basket...he wrestled Megat to be here and succeeded...

Megat sitting pretty on grandma's sofa...his leg is still as bare as before...

Toro sleeping his Sunday away on the amigo table...

The scratches are all the result of amigo action. They love sliding on the table, so grandma decided that they could have the table since they loved sliding on it so much.

Ms Akira taking time off from scaring Megat and Tanaka.

I have stopped giving Ms Akira the Bach Remedy for aggression as instead of making her calmer,
she is getting really aggressive. This is rather strange as the Remedy is supposed to make her calm. When she was hiding out from the boys, I gave her the remedy as she would sometimes snarl at them. I noticed that after the remedy, she would actually come into the living room and sit with us. She was getting more and more like her old self and so I bought a 2nd bottle. After 2 months, she became more aggressive and would snarl and hiss at the boys, except Bujang. She would sometimes lie in wait for them to finish their meals (which was nice of her) but as soon as they are done, she would jump on them, snarling like a super banshee. She would even slap them and run after them right into the living room. So I gave her another remedy for Calmness for the past week. I have seen some positive behaviour, like her not jumping on Megat and yesterday, she was actually sitting on the amigo table with Megat right infront of her and she did not even bat an eye.

  1. Oh dear....Miss Akira, could it be the heat affecting you too?

Maybe it is not the Bach not working, just that she has been more stressed out by things around her and the condition deteriorates.

    Be patient bah.

Some cats appear aggressive but they may be actually fearful. They may snarl and growl when other cats come near - they are fearful - not aggressive.
Since you said Ms Akira was "hiding" from the boys, it may not be aggression - but you would be the best person to tell the difference.
There is Bach "Fear" which i use for cats to be adopted out. Do not use for vet visits as some cats may get too quiet & not be their normal selves.

My vet suggested Bach Flower "Grief and Mourning" to calm some cats when they get adopted as adult cats to the next family - the cats may miss the previous families very much - rather than "Fear".

If cats are sick - Bach "Recovery" is good to calm them down esp after surgery. "Detox" is good if cat is on a lot of medication.

There are other holistic supplements though i find Bach Remedy granules easily acceptable by cats. It is a little sweet - best check with vet before giving regularly to diabetic cats.

No, i am not agent for Bach Flower ; ) I do use holistic supplements a lot though.
