Goodnight from...

grandma's boys :)

Saturday Calm

Megat asleep after supplements and antibiotics

I still had to wipe him down with a cool towel after his supplements but was glad that he actually told me off for being late with his dinner. He had been very quiet for 3 days in a row and that worried me quite a lot. Then he ate his antibiotics quickly and ate 3 salmon treats. Hurrah! He had not touched his treats for 3 days! I believe he is getting better and his fever is not getting the better of him. Dr L says he should be ok in 4 days although the antibiotic is for a week.

PS: He still is not eating his kibbles at night. I think this will quite a long haul for Megat. he still has a temperature and I have given him his cool water mat for the night.

Family on Saturday

2 boys enjoying each other's company...

Listen to me san...

No! I say...

I am fed up with you not talking to me.

I fink I am also pretty san...

Yes Bujang. You are very handsome indeed :)

Tuesday Quiet

Totoro sitting pretty
and sleeping pretty too :)

Tuesday is still and quiet. Sister S came to help grandma and they both watched the Bollywood film Gandiji in the room. It seemed Amir Khan (the hero) had built himself up for the film :) So the boys just lazed about by themselves...

Yes grandma is doing very well indeed and the doctor was very pleased with the progress of her eyes. We are all very grateful for this.

Sunday Thoughts

Megat resting easy...
San, why is Megat staring at me. Can you tell him to stop?"

Laundry and the kitty

Oh..oh...why is the washer moving san?

Tanaka helped me with the sunday laundry. he watched very carefully as I put some detergent in and then he stared at the water filling up the machine. I then placed the top down and he very quicky stepped onto the machine to enjoy the vibrations...:)

Salad for you?

Ms Akira eating my break fast salad...

I was very surprised that Ms Akira took a liking to my lettuce. She sniffed at it and decided to have some. She ate a few leaves (very small portions). then she went into the living room and promptly threw up. Aiyah Kitty!

Grandma's boys on Saturday

I came home from work and saw the boys hanging out with grandma for the afternoon. Toro was in his favourite cuddling position and Tanaka on his :) It was a miracle Bujang did not beat Toro up for trying to muscle into his territory with grandma. Megat was far away from the fray as he realise dthere was no way he would win this battle.

Welcome to the 1st day of Ramadhan

Bujang celebrating the 1st day of Ramadhan

The boys woke up with me very early today as this is the 1st morning for Ramadhan. We ate pre-dawn meal together. The boys had biscuits and water and I had cornflakes and tea. It was an express meal :)

However Bujang still has not passed out his string although he looks none the worse for wear. Whenever he sees us with the laxatone, he would run off, waving his foot (the one that I had placed the Laxatone on last week) wildly. He would, however, polish off his laxatone-laced treat and that is how we had been giving Bujang his laxative.

A second of wind and rain...

My first try at exporting video from picasa. This is hardly anything. This was actually a mistake. I had wanted to take Bujang's picture sitting infront of the window to enjoy the breeze in the rain yesterday but I think the breeze and rain got too much for him and he decided to move away.

Quiet Wednesday

Did you hear that san?
Its only the drizzle silly. Nothing to fear...
Okie...
zzz...

Scent of rain...

There was a light drizzle this afternoon and the windows were opened. I wanted to close it but saw that the amigos, especially Bujang wanted to sit and feel the cold and rainy breeze. So I let him sit there smelling the rain :)

The String Theory

Watcha lookin at?
Bujang sitting with grandma and keeping her company...
Oahhh...I'm too sleepy...
There is only so much a bodyguard can do grandma...
Emergency measures...Oh Oh!

Dr L advised that I give Bujang Laxatone once a day for four days to see if the string would come out of his system. He said it was a serious thing if a cat should eat string as it could mess up his digestive system and mess with his intestines. I was very afraid of this as Cousin R had a friend whose cat had to undergo surgery because he had eaten string. The cat is fine now.

The instructions say that I should put a little on his nose or paw to persuade him to eat it. Did he give me a hard time? YES! The paw trick did not work. Instead it spooked Bujang so much that he spent 10 minutes trying to shake it off his paw. By the time he licked what was left ...there was hardly anything.

I had given him his treat to persuade him that it was a good thing to lick the gel and Cousin R came up with a good idea :) So we put some of the gel on the treats. He ate the treats suspiciously but at least all of the treats and the gel were in his system. Then for good measure as there was some gel left in his plate, I put some of the broken pieces and powdered salmon treats on it. That worked very nicely for Bujang. He was not stressed out and we got him to eat his gel :)

Now we only have to see what will or will not happen ...

Where are the kitties...and good news

Oh dear...its too scary to think about...

C, the liaison officer for the community cats in our area called to say that 5 cats from blk *** had disappeared. She and a few others were there to trap them for neutering tomorrow and they could not even find one kitty! SY from mcats said that the cats were not about even before the National Day week!! If the cats were sent to the AVA by some seeming 'good samaritan', there is no way that the cats are even alive now - 2 weeks too late. Sy also told me that there used to be an animal hoarder who took in many cats and of course they did not survive that experience but she was not able to find out anything more about the woman. The only good news was that C was able to trap 2 cats some weeks before who are now in foster homes. But it is bad news all around :(
PS: GOOD NEWS
C smsed again yesterday at about 1030 to tell me that she finally found them. I am glad that the kitties are wiser now not to draw attention to themselves and would hide from people. It seems that even Sy has not been able to see them when she went looking for the 3-legged one to adopt 3 weeks ago and Sy told me that a few people have told her the cats are nowhere to be seen. Good Kitties!

Did she really?

Minah came up to see us on Saturday morning. When I opened the door at about 6 am, I saw a calico tail running off. I opened the door and caught sight of Minah running towards the staircase. She took one quick look back at me and disappeared. This is the 2nd time that she has come up to see us (that I had witnessed). Our neighbour though told me that she once saw Minah sitting infront of my door :) I wonder if she just smells the amigos and if she does, what the amigos would smell of - probably tuna :)

Oh dear....

Bujang sleeping the day away as though nothing has happened...

Last Friday, when we were preparing Megat's supplements Bujang bit and ate (I believe) about 3 inches of Megat's bib tie. A whole length of cloth! I was very worried and had been keeping a close eye on him all weekend but he has yet to poo it out. I had also advised Sister S, who is helping with grandma, to keep an eye on Bujang. That tie could give him a very bad stomachache, not to mention mess with his intestines. I will ask Dr L if I should bring him for an xray.

Note

Our house has been purty busy last week. Grandma had her cataract operation and san had decided to do some spring cleaning. san threwout many offur her own fings. san said its better to have a house with only a few fings but she did not throw away our fings at all. All offuerour fings are necessary fur us! The only fing is she has also rearranged the furniture and now we cannot jump on her from the top offur the cupboard when she is asleep but no matter. There is always headbutting her awake in the morning.

All Quiet on the PR front

zzz...
zzz..

It rained very heavily today to wash out the haze and the parade. I took in the National Flag as it keeps getting caught in grandma's plants. (Maybe THAT was what the little plastic stick was for - to stabilise the flag..aiyahhh..too late) Grandma folded the flag up neatly to put it away for next year. The kitties are still asleep as the day is cold with a slight cool breeze...

It will be a quiet Monday.

Goodnight Sunday

After dinner and supplements, Megat prepares for a good nap...
Tanaka wonders what the ND fuss was all about...
We got Ms Akira a new sparkly collar to go with the boys' collars on National Day. She is too exhausted with sitting on grandma's lap watching the parade.
